At Vincent Van-Dough, pizza has never just been “food” to us — it’s always been a passion.
The business was founded by Derek, whose love for cooking goes back many years. Long before Vincent Van Dough existed, Derek spent countless evenings experimenting in the kitchen, constantly trying to perfect recipes and learn new techniques.
From homemade curries and smash burgers to slow-cooked comfort food, cooking had always been more than just a hobby — it was something he genuinely loved doing.
But one style of food stood above everything else.
Authentic Italian pizza.
There was something about the simplicity of proper Neapolitan pizza that became almost addictive. A handful of simple ingredients, cooked correctly, creating something incredible.
What started as curiosity quickly turned into obsession.
Over the years, Derek spent countless hours researching dough fermentation, hydration levels, flour blends, proving times and cooking temperatures. Different flours were tested, fermentation times adjusted, hydration levels tweaked and techniques refined over and over again.
The goal was always the same:
Create authentic Neapolitan pizza with a light airy crust, incredible flavour and the kind of texture you normally only find in great pizzerias.
Eventually, friends and family started saying the same thing:
“You should be doing this professionally.”
That passion eventually became Vincent Van Dough.
Today, we specialise in authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza for weddings, parties, corporate events and festivals across Cheshire, Manchester, Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
Everything is cooked fresh inside our traditional-style oven at temperatures approaching 400°C, creating the lightly charred crust and soft airy texture authentic Neapolitan pizza is famous for.
But Vincent Van Dough is about more than just great pizza.
We wanted to create an experience people would remember.
From our signature Starry Night themed van and glowing wood-fired oven to the relaxed buffet-style service we’ve become known for, the whole idea was to create something that feels fun, welcoming and different from standard event catering.
One of the biggest compliments we receive is when guests tell us:
